I’m Back

It's been a while. In recent months, my confidence wavered, questioning the impact of my voice in reshaping fitness attitudes and building a resilient community. Witnessing one failed idea to the next, I got discouraged.

As I debated with myself over whether or not I should just give it a rest, a realization hit me: I was focused on my failures, not acknowledging my resilience in continuing to try.

Failure often distorts our perception of progress. It makes us feel like we are further from our goals than where we started. But, thankfully, the truth is the opposite.

You only halt progress when you stop trying. With each miss- each failure- you move closer and closer to what you’re striving to reach. Every swing, despite failure or embarrassment or rejection, propels you forward.

As much as we waver, and for all of the times we mess up, we are constantly graced with the choice to get back up to the plate and swing again.

So this week, remind yourself of this simple truth: "I can start late, I can start over, I can be unsure, I can try (and fail), and I can still succeed."

I’ll keep swinging with you.
