Trusting Timing
Hey family!
Generally, I am incredibly impatient. Not only do I find it hard to wait, but adding layers of uncertainty on top of the waiting drives me absolutely insane. As if the unknown itself doesn’t make me uncomfortable enough, guessing on its arrival stresses me to no end.
Through reflection, I’ve realized that the reason waiting is so hard for me is because it’s rooted in my desire to have things happen in my time. This way, I feel more in control.
The only problem is that when I force the timing, or when I impose my will on the process, it rarely ever yields my desired results. On the other hand, every time that I’ve relaxed into patience and let things unfold in their own perfect timing, the results are far better than anything I could’ve planned or imagined.
And this hasn’t just been the case once or twice, it’s been a pattern: when I let things unravel on their own time and trust that that timing is always best for me, things never fail to work together in the most beautiful way.
How many times must this lesson be made apparent to me before I finally learn to relax into patience and knowing? How many more ways does life have to twist and flow together in the best, most unpredictable ways before I learn to sit back and trust divine timing?
Another day is another chance to learn to relax and accept that things are always working together for our benefit, effortlessly. The hardest (yet simplest) thing we have to do is believe it!
The quote of the week comes from Amit Kalantri:
“Common man’s patience will bring him more happiness than common man’s power.”
Reflection question: Thinking back on your life, how have you seen examples of trusting timing and seeing things working out beautifully?
