Cheers to New Beginnings
Hey family!
With this being the first newsletter, I want to give a HUGE thank you for your support and willingness to join this space. It’s my goal to share my experiences and perspectives (along with other helpful resources) to help you navigate your own journey towards mens sana in corpore sano (a healthy mind in a healthy body).
That said, cheers to NEW BEGINNINGS!
Recently, I’ve been feeling like I’m entering a new chapter in a lot of areas in my life. Graduation is around the corner, I’m trying to build a brand from scratch, reshaping my training style…the list could go on and on.
And as good as it can feel to turn the page towards something new, I sometimes feel like it’s hard for me to keep up with the change. For me, change often feels like I’m being pushed towards the edge of a cliff, and I’m not sure if there’s anything below to catch my fall.
So when I find myself in this space mentally where there’s a lot of doubt, uncertainty, and fear…I am reminded of 2 key ways to embrace new beginnings:
I show a deep, DEEP appreciation for my past experiences and the chapter i just came out of. I root my gratitude in the belief that everything in my life is working together in a way that’s guiding me along my journey.
I remember that all things are temporary. Good/bad moments…no season lasts forever. In other words, I need to enjoy today what I might miss tomorrow. Knowing how temporary things are, I know that my only shot at true joy is to embrace the NOW! Welcome the mindset that whatever this new season brings, I’m going to be fully present for it because the present moment is where I can grow and find joy.
This quote by Marcus Aurelius sums it up pretty nicely:
“Everything’s destiny is to change, to be transformed, to perish. So that new things can be born.”
Reflection question this week: What can I enjoy today that I might miss tomorrow?
